I have the honour of acknowledging the receipt of your letter of the 10th September 1800 which has given me infinite pleasure and it gives me inexpressible satisfaction that you are one of the same sentiments as your predecessor Commodore Talbot and that you are disposed to work in concert for the benefit of both Governments. I shall have the advantage of seeing you soon and also of conversing with you on the interest of both nations
